Equality Act 2010
The Equality Bill was pubilshed on 27th April 2009 and became an Act of Parliament on 8th April 2010. The Act is intended to provide a legislative framework to protect the rights of individuals and advance equality of opportunity for all.
Last year the EGU and EWGA took the opportunity to contribute to the consultation process and also provided an FAQ document that gave an interpretation of the impact of the Equality Bill and was produced in anticipation of the Bill becoming an Act of Parliament.
